On Tuesday, 11th May 2022, “Ascot Racecourse Supports” were delighted to host Day 2 of Learning to Work’s “World of Work Insights programme” for Year 12 Student from St Joseph’s High School in Slough.
This programme has been initiated to replace traditional work experience, which is becoming harder to come by, and to enable students to hear from local businesses and guest speakers about what to expect from the workplace.
As part of the day, students were given tips on how to improve their CVs, gain insight into what employers are looking for and how to secure a role/position. Lesley Wheeler, Learning & Talent Partner, presented and shared information about Ascot Racecourse, the “Ascot Way” and career opportunities with us.
In addition, a similar day was running concurrently at Lynch Hill Enterprise Academy in Slough, and Suzi Carey from 1711 and Manisha Vithani in C&E were present as guest speakers – shown here.
We look forward to hopefully welcoming some of these students back as employees in the near future and to working again with Learning to Work who are providing such valuable opportunities for our local youth
