With the horse being the lifeblood of the racecourse, we support the many and varied organisations that support both the horse, the racing industry and its staff.
Ascot is also home to the War Horse Memorial, located opposite Car Park One, which recognises the thousands of horses, donkeys and mules who lost their lives in WW1. An area of reflection has been provided by the racecourse for those wishing to pay tribute.
Our donations and support have helped support the following organisations:
Our IJF Ambassador’s programme, which provides fine dining guests with a fun, educational talk and tour from an IJF jockey, grows in popularity. The combination of a £1 donation per cover from the racecourse coupled with on the day donations from guests, has seen a total of over £78,000 being raised for the charity since 2017.
We also support the British Racing School and have provided branded jockey jackets and silks for their students. In turn, the school regularly provide equicisers to enable our racegoers to experience riding.
With the help of Ryan Moore, who we are proud to have as our Ascot Supports Ambassador, the school produced this video to showcase potential careers in racing.
We also are treated to a parade of ex-racehorses from Retraining of Racehorses every July. This provides the perfect arena in which to educate and inform racegoers on the backstories of horses that leave racing and go on to future success in other equine arenas.
