Ascot Racecourse Hosts School Bake-Off

On Tuesday, 18th April 2023 we were delighted to host the finals of our Inter-Schools Junior & Senior Bake-Off Competitions which Ascot Racecourse Supports sponsored and which educational charity, Learning to Work coordinated.
The competition saw students from local schools work in teams to create and bake a “Traybake” themed to celebrate The Coronation.
Finalists were tasked with sharing their moodboards and traybakes in the “Bake Off Creation Zone” and detailing their journey from idea to creation.

Our judges Gemma Amor (1711 Executive Head Chef) , Jonathan Parker (1711 Managing Director) and celebrity chef, James Tanner, then had the unenviable task of choosing a winner from both the Senior and Junior categories.
Winning bakes will be featured on our retail menus at the Summer Mile Family Raceday on 15th July 2023 with winners and runners up being invited to attend the day.
WBK, our catering suppliers, also kindly donated catering equipment to the winning schools which were gratefully received.
As part of the day students, parents and teachers also heard more about hospitality operations at Ascot and Royal Ascot and were treated to a tour of the racecourse.
Congratulations to all our winners and runners up and thank you to all the schools who participated.
