As in previous years, Ascot Racecourse has worked with the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead (RBWM) and Thames Valley Police (TVP) to produce a traffic plan to try to minimise disruption to those living in the area around the racecourse during Royal Ascot.
The below illustrative map shows the major traffic management measures for 2017.
Can we draw your particular attention to the new plans for the Winkfield Road to be run as a one-way system between 10:30-13:30. The traffic planning authorities, including the Racecourse, believe this will improve access to the car parks.
In order to effectively manage the traffic during the week and identify potential improvements for the future , an extended network of cameras will be installed around the local networks.
Manual management of key traffic points should help to reduce delays from all approaches.
We hope these measures will go some way towards reducing the inconvenience caused by this large sporting event and we appreciate your understand.
