Lincolneurocruiser recorded a popular win for veteran trainer Norma Macauley and jockey Margaret Morris in the Idols Eye Diamond Handicap for lady riders. The 20/1 shot stayed on well to deny Greenwood by half a length with 11/2 favourite Roman Maze back in third.

Winning trainer Norma Macualey, saddling her first Flat winner at Ascot, said: It just goes to show you can still train bloody winners at 74! This race was not specifically a plan for him but I thought it looked suitable. He loves the July Course at Newmarket and it is quite similar here. Margaret has ridden lots of times for me and the horses go well for her. This horse is a really game sort and always runs his race. I think the owners had some money on him this morning. Margaret Morris, the successful rider, added: "This is always a race in the calender for us lady riders and it is very special to win. I was a bit further back than I intended but he was very brave and came when I asked him. Norma told me that when he hit the front he would keep battling!
